I hope and pray that everyone is healthy and well. Despite what we may feel in times of uncertainty, we can be certain that our loving God is in full control. Let us live out and experience this great Bible truth from Philippians 4:6–7 (NASB95) 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
The Covid-19 development was rapid and unpredictable at times, but I am thankful that CBC leadership had a plan in place to respond accordingly and we did. It is my expectation that for the coming weeks to months, we cannot meet physically, but we are setup to worship together through live streaming and to pray together virtually through our virtual meetings. Fortunately for our church, we were ahead of the curve in that we have been live streaming our worship services on facebook/church website and utilizing virtual meetings for a while. Kuddos to our AV team and others!
As many of us will be at home for a while, here are my suggestions on how you can maintain your spiritual life.
1. Start if you have not already, a Bible Reading plan
2. Pray in the morning after breakfast and evenings after dinner for 5-10 min
3. Join the 8-9 PM Wednesday Virtual Prayer Meetings by internet or phone (I can host a maximum of 100 participants)
-Join by Hangouts Meet: meet.google.com/wcf-kfzg-oin
-Join by phone: +1 515-705-4743 PIN: 192 354 132#
4. Worship Sundays at 9:30 AM through the Website or Facebook live streaming
Lastly, I am thankful that the church leadership has put in place a system where many of you should be receiving a care call from one of our Deacons and/or other leaders. Please welcome the calls since they are taking the time to contact you to pray for you and make sure you are doing okay. Feel free to ask for help if you need any.
In addition, we have created a hotline where CBCers can call to ask for prayers or help. The details on the hotline will be sent out by emails or possibly phone calls if you don’t have emails. Keep a lookout for that information and don’t hesitate to ask for prayers or help.
We are praying for you all. Stay close to the Lord and this too shall pass. We look forward to seeing you all online and eventually at our church building. Keep checking the website for periodic updates.
